Today, I filled in for Pastor James as he and his wife Katie are in Las Vegas awaiting the arrival of their first born son, Julian. The message today was "do not be afraid", for He is with us. We took a boat ride on the sea of Galilee with Peter and the disciples to learn not to take our eyes off of Jesus when the storms in our lives hit. Please click the link below to listen in.

I have another update about Amargosa Christian Fellowship’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak as this is a rapidly changing situation.
While the church board at Amargosa Christian Fellowship initially decided to continue Sunday morning services for now, in light of the governor of Nevada issuing new directives to its citizens not to gather in groups, we will not be having Sunday morning services for at least the next two weeks.
The governor has said:
“As COVID-19 continues to spread, now more than ever we need to heed the warnings of scientists and public health experts who urge that staying home and avoiding contact with others is the absolute best way we can control the spread of the virus right now. This will prevent our health care system from becoming overwhelmed with severely ill persons and will save the lives of your family, your friends, and your neighbors.”
• Avoid all non-essential travel and social interactions.
• Work from home, when possible, and do not gather in groups.
• Stay at least 6 feet apart from others.
While the Coronavirus has not yet reached Amargosa Valley as far as we know, we want to obey Romans 13 and submit to the governing authorities and take precautions to protect the most vulnerable among us.
I will continue to preach my Sunday morning sermon on Saturday and have it uploaded to our church website by Sunday morning so you can all listen to it on Sunday morning as you normally would.

No one but the Lord knows how long this pandemic will last and I look forward to being with all of you once this is over to give thanks to God for his protection and faithfulness.
When life is uncertain, we can still trust in the words of Psalm 91:1-10:
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place – the Most High, who is my refuge – no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.”
